In the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, neon lights flicker and people gather. Many young people gather here from all directions, pursuing careers, love and dreams that seem to be within reach. In a community called "Ode to Joy", there live five girls of similar age, including Fan Shengmei (Jiang Xin), a "Hutong Princess" who works for a foreign company and rents a house together, Guan Juer (Qiao Xin), a well-off girl from a good family, Qiu Yingying (Yang Zi), an ordinary office worker from a small city, and Andy (Liu Tao), a returnee who combines beauty, intelligence and career, and Qu Xiaoxiao (Wang Ziwen), a quirky rich second generation. As the saying goes, "three women make a play", let alone five young girls with different personalities, backgrounds and life experiences. They collide with each other, snuggle with each other, and tell the stories of girls' struggles in the bustling city together... This film is adapted from A Nai's novel of the same name.
