Onoda Sakamichi (voiced by Yamashita Daiki), a freshman at Chiba Prefectural Sohoku High School, is an out-and-out anime otaku. He is thin and unremarkable, and anime elements occupy his mind. Unfortunately, he did not meet anyone like him in junior high school. After finally getting into high school, he found that the animation research department he dreamed of was abandoned due to too few people. This person who is out of tune with his surroundings likes to ride a bicycle to Akihabara, the holy land of otakus 45 kilometers away, to buy new games and figures. Humming anime theme songs on a sparsely populated slope is his extremely pleasant moment. By chance, he met Imaizumi Shunsuke (played by Toriumi Hiroshi), a cycling competitor and classmate who trained hard to defeat his old enemy Midosuji Sho, and the latter was shocked by the way he climbed the slope easily on a lady's bike. Onoda, who seemed to have no advantages, took this opportunity to join the cycling competition department where masters gathered, and a new door to youth opened for him...
