Based on a true story, Narcos is a film by Veronika Fernández and directed by Jorge Torregrosa (Velocity, The Big Shot, Velvet Collection). It tells the story of Helena (Adriana Ugarte), a prostitute who started out as a regular underling of Malpica (Javier Rey), the leader of a mafia gang in Barcelona in the 1960s. One tough and dangerous mission after another has transformed Helena from a nobody to the head of the organization, seizing control of the heroin trade. In the gang led by Malpica, there are two people who stand out: the unstoppable Aristides and the lawyer Julio Snovela, played by Marc Martínez (To Die (Or Not), El Mundo de Chema) and Pep Ambrose (The Olive Tree, Felix, Slaughterhouse). On the side of justice is the newly formed anti-narcotics brigade, led by Inspector Alejandro Vinuesa (Eduardo Noriega), his partner Eladio Perez (Joseph Julien, Atortas conlavida) and Commissioner Clemente Larrubia (Alex Casanovas, Manila). Marina Salas (Three Meters in the Sky, Sail, I Need You) plays the commissioner's secretary, Silvia Velasco. The Albatross Club is the core of the story of Narcos, a place with its own soul. This nightclub plays pop music and is immersed in foreign tourists, young local gentlemen, disheveled girls and vain residents. This nightclub is also the main activity place of the Malpica gang. The head of the nightclub, Celeste, is played by Ingrid Rubio (o Hell with the Ugly, Under Suspicion, Velvet). The most eye-catching person in the nightclub is singer Julia Bloomsbury (played by British actress Tonya Richardson), who is inseparable from pianist Ramiro Larrocha (played by Tony Sennett).
