Introduction

This drama is the hottest new drama on CBS this year, starring Julianna Margulies, an Emmy Award winner who has performed well in "ER", "Mists of Avalon" and "The Lost Room". The story mainly describes that after politician Peter (played by Chris Noth) was arrested and imprisoned for sex and political scandals, his wife Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) had to end her "housewife" life and take on the responsibility of supporting the family independently. Putting aside her husband's betrayal and negative public influence, the strange eyes cast by others are enough to make Alicia, a wife of an official, ashamed to dare not go out. However, Alicia was not intimidated by the difficulties. She not only wanted to show her face, but also to resume her pre-marriage career - defense lawyer. As a junior partner of a well-known law firm in Chicago, Alicia was welcomed by her old friend Will Gardner (played by Josh Charles). Will was Alicia's classmate when she was in law school and a senior employee of this law firm. He is happy to see Alicia return. He wants to see how this powerful woman will perform in court after thirteen years. Alicia is also fortunate to receive strong support and guidance from the company's top litigation lawyer Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), which makes her flattered and grateful. But she soon discovered that these "guidance" are conditional, and Diane is not as "enthusiastic" as she seems. To succeed, Alicia can only rely on herself. Alicia's main competitor in the company is a young man in his 20s named Cary (played by Matt Czuchry). He recently graduated from Harvard University and is very friendly on the surface. In fact, in order to ensure his position in the company and get the coveted "senior partner" position, he will use all means. If Alicia becomes a stumbling block to him, he will not hesitate to remove her. Fortunately, Alicia is not alone in the company. Kalinda (played by Archie Panjabi), who is in charge of investigation and evidence collection, is Alicia's most staunch supporter. "Be confident every day", Alicia knows the meaning of this sentence. From a despised politician's wife to a revitalized professional woman, this road may be long, but Alicia doesn't care. She wants to live for herself and make early plans for her 14-year-old son Zach (played by Graham Phillips) and 13-year-old daughter Grace (played by Makenzie Vega). For the first time in so many years, Alicia feels that her destiny is in her own hands. She is no longer the weak and manipulated "virtuous wife", but a free woman.
