The story takes place in 1962. Macfarlane (Viggo Mortensen) and Colette (Kirsten Dunst) are an artist couple who travel to the picturesque Greece. In the ancient Greek Acropolis, the couple met a strange man named Rydal (Oscar Isaac), who was a local tour guide who made a living by stealing and cheating. Macfarlane and Colette's uniqueness attracted Rydal's attention, and the three of them had dinner together. Afterwards, the couple invited Rydal to visit the hotel where they were staying. At this time, Macfarlane made a request that made Rydal very confused-help him move a body.
