This film is adapted from the autobiography of Temple Grandin (Claire Danes), an American animal scientist and doctor of animal husbandry who has suffered from autism since childhood. It tells the story of Temple's unique growth experience. When Temple was four years old, he was diagnosed with autism by a doctor, and his mother tried many ways to make Temple speak. In order to let Temple have a normal life, her mother reluctantly sent her to a boarding school. Here, Temple met Dr. Carlock, the mentor who opened the door to her talent. With the help of her mentor, Temple was successfully admitted to the university. In the summer vacation before going to college, Temple came to his aunt's farm for vacation. Since then, Temple has developed a strong interest in livestock. In college, Temple made an "extrusion machine" to calm his nervousness. After graduation, Temple continued to study animal husbandry and designed a slaughtering method that greatly increased the slaughter rate and was more humane. Temple perceives the world in her unique way, "thinking like livestock", and speaks out her personal experience loudly at the autism seminar...
