The young boy TS Spivey (Kyle Catlett) was born on a remote ranch in Montana. He has a very smart brain and loves cartography and scientific illustrations. He invented a perpetual motion machine at the age of ten. His father (Callum Keith Rennie) is an avid cowboy fan who collects everything about western cowboys; his mother (Helena Bonham Carter) is a doctor of biology who devotes herself to insect research; and his sister is a most ordinary normal person. She often worries about living in a house full of weirdos. TS originally had a fraternal twin brother Layton, who died in an accident last year. On this day, TS received a call from the Smithsonian Institute, informing him that he was awarded the Baird Prize, a world science award, and invited him to give a speech in Washington. So, the ten-year-old scientific wizard TS Spivey secretly climbed onto a freight train and embarked on a strange journey across the United States alone.
