Billy (Jamie Bell)'s family is a low-level miner in the UK. They participated in the strike, struggled in poverty, and thought that Billy should learn some men's boxing. Billy went to a boxing class once a week, but a chance opportunity made him embark on a different path. Because of a small accident, Billy discovered his subconscious love for ballet, and the picky and sophisticated ballet teacher Wilkinson (Julie Walters) accidentally discovered that Billy had great ballet talent. The two hit it off, and Wilkinson even gave up her class of female students and put all her thoughts on cultivating little Billy. But Billy's family didn't understand why their son fell in love with girls' stuff. Billy made a painful choice under the opposition of his family. However, a great opportunity is right in front of him. If he is admitted to the Royal Ballet School in London, Billy's ballet dream will get a broad stage. Billy stood at a crossroads and chose his life.
