Vic is a hapless young Russian-American who lives with his grandmother in Milwaukee and works as a driver for the disabled. One day, a street protest breaks out and Vic, who is already late, reluctantly agrees to take his grandfather and a group of Russian old men to a funeral, but they are not happy to let Vic pass through the African-American community to pick up Tracy, a black girl with muscular dystrophy. Faced with the risk of losing his job, the complicated situation makes Vic's day even worse.
