Lillian (Isabelle Huppert) seems to be just an ordinary factory worker, living a nine-to-five life every day, and returning home immediately after get off work, without any entertainment and social interaction. In fact, Lillian hides her true identity and past. Once, she was a famous singer in the entertainment industry under the name of Laura. However, a failed relationship made her walk into a desperate situation, choose to retire, and never ask about the world again. In the factory, Lillian met a man named Jean (Kevin Azaïs), who dreamed of becoming a professional boxer and made unremitting efforts for this. Jean's father was once a die-hard fan of Laura. When he learned of Lillian's true identity, Jean invited Lillian to sing at his family dinner. Who knew that Lillian's identity was exposed, and the relationship between her and Jean became more and more ambiguous.
