The story takes place in the bustling metropolis of West Los Angeles, where a group of "martial arts masters" gather and often exchange skills with each other. Among them, there is a very inconspicuous man named Mike (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Mike is a self-defense coach with great kung fu. However, he is used to keeping a low profile and does not want to show his strength too much. Mike and his wife Sandra (Alice Braga) opened a martial arts hall to make a living. Although the business of the martial arts hall has been mediocre, the loving couple are very satisfied with the current peaceful life. However, an accident caused Mike to be helplessly involved in the vortex of interest disputes and was burdened with heavy debts. In order to protect his family, Mike had to stand up and fight for his honor.
