In the autumn of 1943 during the Anti-Japanese War, guerrilla leader Li Xiangyang (Guo Zhenqing) received the task of pinning down the Japanese army stationed in a county town in order to smash the Japanese army's conspiracy to "mop up" a base in North China and keep the grain hidden in Lizhuang. During the operation, Li Xiangyang and the chief of staff divided their troops into two groups and carried out the operation in parallel. When Li Xiangyang was transferring grain, he was spied by the landlord Yang Laozong, who rushed to the county town to inform Song Jing (Fang Hua). Song Jing was overjoyed and led a large force to Lizhuang, but the grain and the villagers had been arranged by Li Xiangyang to be transferred to the tunnel, but the tunnel was eventually discovered by Song Jing. In order to lure Song Jing out of Lizhuang, Li Xiangyang led his team into the county town, blew up the Japanese ammunition train, and planned to catch him off guard when he retreated, but Li Xiangyang underestimated Song Jing's cunning. Song Jing killed a "backstab" halfway and returned to Lizhuang, killing some villagers who refused to tell where the grain was hidden. However, Matsui was unable to withstand Li Xiangyang's elusiveness.
