The film is set against the backdrop of the "Colorful Hulunbuir Choir". It tells the story of a wealthy mother and daughter in a modern city who come to the prairie and meet a Mongolian grandmother, which changes their entire outlook on life. Shang Yu (played by Charlie Young) is a manager of a foreign company. She firmly believes that economic development is the only way to happiness. Her first marriage failed, but she is used to being tough and rarely shows tenderness in front of others. In the face of the financial tsunami, she was assigned to Hulunbuir, in the name of investigation, and she would do whatever it takes to find a reasonable reason to cancel cultural projects that lack commercial value. In this desolate land, her nitpicking character makes her miserable, but her daughter Ding Yuze (played by Lin Miaoke) finds herself in her little friends, discovers her paradise, and also establishes a relationship with the Mongolian grandmother Hong Po Po (played by Liu Xiaoqing). The mother gradually realizes how little she knows about her daughter, but accidentally hears Xiaoze's singing. In the singing, she hears another completely different image of Xiaoze: brave, unrestrained, happy, and confident. On this day, Xiaoze got lost while trying to save a lamb. It was raining and windy, so she hid under a rock. Granny Hong returned to look for Xiaoze. In the duet, Granny Hong finally found Xiaoze, who was soaked all over. Shang Yu saw Granny Hong hugging Xiaoze, who had a fever, and singing softly. She was moved by the simple singing of Granny Hong and the children. In the music, she saw the road ahead and her own shortcomings, and found her long-lost authenticity and happiness...
