In 1940, Britain was at war, with enemy air raids and bombings every day. However, what was more broken than the devastated London was the desperate hearts of the people. Facing the unknown impermanence of life, movies became the only spiritual comfort. The Film Department of the Information Bureau wanted to boost national morale and public opinion, and began to shoot political propaganda films.
