In a state-of-the-art prison run by the brilliant and visionary Steve Inasti (Chris Hemsworth), prisoners wear a surgically attached device that delivers a dose of mind-altering drugs in exchange for a reduced sentence. No bars, no cells, no orange jumpsuits. In Spiderhead, incarcerated volunteers are free to be themselves. Until they eventually lose themselves. Sometimes, they become better versions of themselves. Need to relax? There's a drug for that. Overwhelmed? There's a drug for that, too. But when two subjects, Jeff (Miles Teller) and Lizzie (Jurnee Smollett), develop a bond, their road to redemption is fraught with twists and turns as Inasti's experiments begin to completely push the limits of free will. "Spider-Head" is adapted from George Sanders' short story in The New Yorker. It is directed by Joseph Kosinski ("TRON: Legacy", "Top Gun: Maverick") and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick ("Deadpool", "Zombieland"). It is a psychological thriller with a unique style and dark humor.
