Al Pacino joins HBO's Joe Paterno biopic, playing one of the most accomplished coaches in American football history, Joe Paterno, who coached Pennsylvania State University for 46 years. The film focuses on the late stage of Paterno's career. "In 2011, he was involved in a sex scandal involving his assistant Jerry Sandusky molesting a boy. Paterno's legendary coaching experience was challenged, and he had to face various institutional problems from the perspective of a victim." In reality, Paterno was believed to have shielded an assistant coach, and he and the school principal lost their jobs, and some of their honors in their careers were also stripped. This biopic will be directed by Barry Levinson, the director of "Rain Man", and this is another collaboration between him and Pacino. The two previously collaborated on "Phil Spector" and "Doctor Death", both of which were also made into TV movies by HBO.
