Walter Kowalski (Clint Eastwood), a retired Ford worker who participated in the Korean War, lives alone in a low-income Asian immigrant area in a small town in Michigan after his wife died. His neighbors are a large Hmong family, and a pair of siblings caught Walter's attention. Sister Sue (Ahney Her) is humorous and talkative, and gradually becomes friends with the stubborn and somewhat racist old Walter; the taciturn brother Tao (Bee Vang) is forced by his distant cousin to join the local Hmong gang. In his first action, he is assigned to steal the 1972 Ford classic car that Walter regards as a treasure. After failing to steal the car, Tao is forced by his family to work for Walter to atone for his sins, but he never thought that he would establish a deep friendship with Walter. However, the local Hmong gang refused to give up. For the safety of Sue and Tao and the peace of the community, how should the old soldier Walter act? This film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song ("Classic Car").
