This is a true story adapted from a true story. It is full of black humor under the bloody gimmick. The movie has a great impact in Southeast Asia. Some people in South Korea and Japan have committed crimes based on the plot of the movie. In August 1985, human body parts were found on the Hac Sa Beach in Coloane, Macau. At first, the Macau police suspected that the remains were left by mainland illegal immigrants who were attacked by sharks, but the examination confirmed that the remains were cut off by a knife. So Li Sir (Danny Lee) of the Macau Ministry of Justice began to investigate the case and found that the Zheng family of the Eight Immortals Restaurant had all disappeared overnight. When the police went to investigate, the person in charge of the Eight Immortals Restaurant, Huang Zhiheng, said that the Zheng family had immigrated overseas and gave the restaurant to him. Later, Li Sir found that the Zheng family had no record of leaving the country, so he took the opportunity to arrest Huang to assist in the investigation. Huang was arrested when he tried to sneak back to the mainland. During the detention, Huang not only refused to cooperate, but also concealed the facts. The Ministry of Justice had no choice but to use all means to track down the murder. Anthony Wong won the Best Actor Award at the 13th Hong Kong Film Awards for this movie.
