Zhu Hongli (played by Sammo Hung), a paper-making shop worker, was brought up by his Taoist uncle (played by Lam Ching-ying) since he was a child. Zhu Hongli has not learned much about Taoism and sometimes behaves in a perverse way, but he has a righteous heart. He often gives people the cold shoulder because he does not want to drag down his fiancée, Ayun (played by Cherie Chung), who was arranged to marry him. Zhu Hongli's friend Ma Linxiang (played by Wu Ma) went out to make a living, but turned into a corpse when he returned home. Ma Linxiang's pregnant wife and several male companions also returned with him. Zhu Hongli felt that something was wrong and tried his best to investigate but found nothing. A few days later, Ma Linxiang's ghost came to Zhu Hongli for help. It turned out that Ma Linxiang did not die when he returned home. He only took this bad plan to steal the burial objects of his ancestors with others, but he did not expect that the fake play became real and he was killed by his accomplices. Zhu Hongli, who was frustrated, could not resist the harassment of the ghost, and asked his uncle to perform a ritual to help his friend avenge him. As a result, he lost his body and died. The grief-stricken Ayun, under the guidance of his second uncle, wanted to fight with the ghost to get back Zhu Hongli's soul...
