Adapted from Hai Yan's novel of the same name. An Xin (Sun Li) is a female drug police officer in Nande, a small border town in Yunnan. When she was about to marry her boyfriend Zhang Tiejun (Fang Bin), who had been in love with her for many years and was a reporter in another place, she met the handsome and sunny Mao Jie (Peter Ho) and quickly fell in love with him. However, after accidentally discovering that Mao Jie was a drug dealer, An Xin regained her senses and broke up with Mao Jie, but she was already pregnant with Mao Jie's child. Soon An Xin married Tiejun. During a mission, An Xin and her teammates wiped out the drug trafficking group headed by Mao Jie's parents in one fell swoop. Mao Jie learned that An Xin was a female drug police officer and launched a crazy revenge on her. Tiejun died tragically at his hands. Out of love for An Xin, the old captain Pan Dui (Du Yuan) forged an identity for her. An Xin came to Beijing and met Yang Rui (Tong Dawei). Yang Rui was originally a playboy. He was framed by a girl for rejecting her and faced imprisonment. Fortunately, An Xin ran around and he was able to escape. From then on, he decided in his heart that An Xin was the woman of his life and began to pursue her, but An Xin kept dodging him because of the Mao Jie incident. Subsequent stories also proved that Mao Jie was always like a ghost and never left An Xin's side.
