At school, Catherine (Laura Linney) is a respected history teacher. At home, she has transformed herself into the backbone of the family. The uneventful life has gradually become a burden on Catherine's heart, but the reason why she wants to change her life so urgently is not this, but that she finds out that she has cancer, and Catherine decides to keep it as her secret.
