"Kangxi's Secret Visits 3" follows the style of the previous two new-style costume light comedy works that use history to satirize the present and criticize current ills. It is divided into three unit stories: "Brocade Robe", "Food Box" and "Bell". In "Brocade Robe", Kangxi (played by Zhang Guoli) sent the eunuch Sandezi (played by Zhao Liang) back to his hometown to investigate corrupt officials, but when family affection was involved, things became difficult to choose; "Food Box" was triggered by the food box sent by Galin, a relative of Concubine Yi (played by Deng Jie); and in "Bell", Kangxi actually left the palace alone and became an ordinary citizen. The classic costume TV series "Kangxi's Secret Visits" has produced five works from 1997 to 2007. These five works have continued the style of the series, and they not only depict Kangxi's approachability during his secret visits, but also portray his powerful side of severely punishing corrupt officials. The first four parts of the series were directed and acted by Zhang Guoli, and the fifth part was directed by Sun Shupei.
