Havana (Patricia Arquette) and Peter (Tate Donovan) are a pair of lovers who are very good at love. They fled to their hometown after robbing a playground. Their hometown is a very ancient and conservative place where the law is not worth mentioning. The only rule that residents believe in is the Bible. There, Havana and Peter finally realized their wishes and stepped into the wedding hall hand in hand, but not long after the marriage, a terrible car accident took away Peter's brother. According to the Bible, Havana will marry again Peter's twelve-year-old brother Siko (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Havana decided to return the stolen goods that had been robbed to the original owner, but the greedy and violent police detectives were not willing to return her quiet life.
