Taipei's night is brightly lit. Xiao Kai (Yao Chunyao) helps his girlfriend pack her bags and bids farewell. She went to Paris, and his longing for her made him study French desperately, hoping to reunite one day. During this period, he met Susie (Amber Kuo), a clerk in a bookstore, and the two gradually developed feelings for each other. Xiao Kai's father (Jack Gao) opened a snack bar, and Xiao Kai's friend Gao Gao often came to patronize and talk about ignorant love. Regular customers also include underworld figure Bao Ge, who is facing a mid-life crisis and is more willing to talk about love than business. But his younger brother A Hong (Ke Yulun) is eager to try and is ready to make a big deal to prove himself. Finally, he waited for an opportunity. Bao Ge's partner left a batch of goods in the shrine. Faced with the surveillance of the police (Esther Chang), he had no way to start. In order to get the goods, Bao Ge promised to help Xiao Kai go to Paris and handed the matter over to him. But A Hong decided to go it alone. Thus, a game of the mantis stalking the cicada while the oriole behind it began... The film won the Best Asian Film Award at the Berlin Film Festival.
