This workplace comedy comes from Vanessa Ramos and David Caspe. The two who have participated in "Superstore" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" first recommended this project to NBC, but it was later taken over by Netflix; many "irony" and "coincidences" were born from this project: in the era of renting videos and discs, Blockbuster was once a leader in the field of home film and television entertainment. Netflix, which also engaged in the movie rental business, was completely crushed in the millennium. After the founders Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings failed to seek an acquisition at the time, they vowed to destroy it in the future; in 2010, Blockbuster was the first to go bankrupt, and a year later it was bought by Dish Network and closed thousands of stores; Netflix took off and became a representative brand of streaming media. The only branch of "Blockbuster" left is in Oregon, which became famous because of the filming of "Captain Marvel". It eventually became a joke in comedy to describe outdatedness. This time, this drama booked by Netflix will focus the story on the last remaining Blockbuster store that is constantly declining. The producers have obtained the rights to use the store's uniforms and brands, and are expected to capture a similar feeling to "Supermarket," writing about the joys and sorrows of working and sunset industries.
