In 1575, the great hero Oda Nobunaga (played by Shiina Kippei) was one step closer to the throne of the world's overlord. In order to show his majesty, Oda decided to build a magnificent castle in Azuchi that symbolized the unification of the world, Azuchi Castle. The imperial craftsman Okabe Mataemon (played by Nishida Toshiyuki) and his apprentice took on this arduous task. He devoted himself to studying, sketching, and designing carefully, not daring to neglect it at all. At the same time, Ikegami Goro Mataemon, who built the Kinkakuji Temple, and Nakai Sondafu, who was in charge of the construction of the Great Buddha Hall in Nara, participated in the competition for the design of this project. Okabe won Oda's trust with his unique and careful thinking and design, and was able to preside over the construction of Azuchi Castle. In the next three years, he and his disciples worked hard and exhausted their minds, and experienced the separation of life and death that ordinary people could not bear in troubled times, just to let the fleeting dream city stand in the world... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the historical novelist Yamamoto Kenichi.
