After 28 years in prison, Wall (Al Pacino) finally returned to the arms of freedom. His long-lost friend Doc (Christopher Walken) came to greet him. Both of them could not suppress their excitement and joy. Although the world has changed dramatically during Wall's imprisonment, the friendship between him and his old friend remains firm and lasting. Later, his old friend Hirsch (Alan Arkin) also joined Wall and Doc's carnival. They recalled the past while enjoying the happiness and indulgence brought by freedom. Happiness is always short-lived. In Doc's heart, there is a secret that makes him feel heavy. It turned out that Doc was entrusted by the gang boss to get rid of Wall who had just been released from prison.
