In 1935, Zhang Hantao, in order to avenge his father, pretended to be an anti-Japanese bandit "Sha Bafang" and killed traitors in succession in Bindao, a small coastal town in southern Liaoning. However, he accidentally implicated many hidden forces such as bandits, the Anti-Japanese United Army, and the Fuxing Society, which caused an uproar. Qingchuan, a former captain of the Japanese military police who was a detective, spent a lot of manpower and material resources to solve the "Sha Bafang" case. In the process of unraveling the mystery, he gradually discovered that Zhang Hantao was a major suspect. Zhang Hantao thus put aside his ego and vowed to resist the Japanese invaders and avenge his compatriots who died. With the selfless rescue of Zhang Laicai, the chief of the Anti-Japanese United Army intelligence station, and the support and guidance of his successor chief Wang Gang, he eventually wiped out the Hamajima Japanese invaders group headed by Qingchuan, and secured a batch of important weapons resources for the Anti-Japanese United Army, becoming a legendary figure in the folk anti-Japanese movement.
