Darden (Patrick Swayze) has lived a free life wandering the streets since he was a child. He has rich social experience. With his clever mind, Darden got a good job in a nightclub. Soon, Darden, who is cheerful, kind, down-to-earth and responsible, won the trust of his boss and colleagues. One day, a group of gangsters came to the nightclub where Darden was to make trouble, and Darden stepped forward to drive them all away. Darden's outstanding performance attracted the appreciation of Dillman (Kevin Tighe), the owner of the Double Dice Bar. Dillman took Darden to his bar and planned to train this promising young man. Soon, Darden managed the Double Dice Bar in an orderly manner and his business was booming. However, his excellence also attracted the dissatisfaction of the local bully Brad (Ben Gazzara).
