In 1975, Northern Ireland suffered from the violent riots of the Northern Ireland Volunteers against Roman Catholic civilians. Alistair (Liam Neeson), who was only 17 years old at the time, could not help but join the Northern Ireland Volunteers under the influence of the violent atmosphere, and brutally killed Joe's brother in front of the young Joe Griffin (James Nesbitt) during a violent activity against Roman Catholic civilians. As the riots subsided, Alistair was sentenced to twelve years in prison, and Joe, who witnessed his brother's murder, always lived under the blame and guilt of his mother. More than 30 years later, a TV station invited Alistair and Joe, who had grown up, to attend a program recording at the same time, trying to restore the truth of the incident through interviews, and also hoped that the two would reconcile. But how will Joe, who has been suffering from mental torture, face the murderer who killed his brother? And how will Alistair tell Joe the original appearance of the incident at that time? Will the two reconcile, and how will their lives change?
