Chunyangge, a time-honored restaurant that prides itself on its culinary traditions, is reported to be closing down. Zhang En (Kim Jong-un), who enjoys the reputation of an "international chef", has worked hard abroad for many years. She is about to return to China to show her talents and strongly advocates that her mother close this old restaurant. In order to stick to the delicious memory of "mom's cooking", Sheng Can (Qin Jiu), a culinary genius who has retired from the food industry, decides to participate in the kimchi war and face Zhang En head-on after visiting Chunyangge, and dispel her idea of closing Chunyangge. This food battle, which concerns the survival of the old restaurant Chunyangge, immediately unfolds in more than 100 kinds of kimchi dishes that are eye-opening. This film is another popular national food movie following "The Gourmet" released in 2007. The film is adapted from the original comic "The Gourmet" created by Xu Wanying.
