Veteran Terry (Samuel L. Jackson) faces an upcoming trial in which he is accused of attacking demonstrators during an operation to protect the ambassador, killing nearly 80 unarmed innocent civilians. Facing this accusation, Terry insists on his innocence because he knows that the demonstrators are not unarmed and they were the first to attack the embassy. Soon Terry discovered that all signs pointed to Terry being at a disadvantage. Before the results of the trial were revealed, the government and the military seemed to have regarded the incident as a scandal. They not only forged testimony, but also erased all evidence in Terry's favor. Faced with this conspiracy, Terry was not ready to surrender. He contacted his old comrade-in-arms, attorney Hayes (Tommy Lee Jones), hoping to regain his innocence with his help.
