During the Southern Song Dynasty, an inn was run at Shizipo in Mengzhou. The proprietress, the female demon Sun Erniang (played by Zhou Haimei), was beautiful, had strong martial arts, and was as heroic and powerful as a man. Ten years ago, she came to Shizipo with her father. Old Sun, who hated his wife's murder, used to be addicted to gambling, but now he could only drown his sorrows in wine. One night, a man sneaked into the inn. He was Zhang Qing (played by Mo Shaocong), a vegetable gardener wanted by the government for accidentally killing someone. After several fights, Zhang Qing was subdued by Sun Erniang, and Old Sun kept him in the store. Zhang Qing also coveted Sun Erniang's beauty and stayed. They spent their days together, making jokes and playing joking. Until one day, the court sent troops to Liangshan, and the two sides were on the verge of a fight, and Shizipo became an important place for the two sides to fight openly and secretly. When the wind and clouds were surging, the fight was about to break out. This film is adapted from the story in "Water Margin", one of the four great masterpieces.
