The story takes place in the United States in the 1950s. Mickey (Rachel Brosnahan) and her husband Joey (Michael Zegen) have been married for many years. They raise their children together and their lives are happy and fulfilling. Joey has always wanted to be a talk show actor. Every weekend, he goes to the club to perform on stage. However, Joey's talk show career has always been tepid. One day, after another failed performance, Joey collapsed. He confessed to Mickey that he had an affair and immediately packed his bags and left home. Overnight, Mickey became a woman abandoned by her husband. In sadness and despair, Mickey took the stage and gave a wonderful speech under the influence of alcohol, which made the audience laugh.
