Introduction

In Hollywood in 1951, all films with left-wing views were deeply affected by the "McCarthy Incident" and were included in the so-called blacklist, and many innocent filmmakers were persecuted. Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey), a newly-minted screenwriter, was originally a talented young playwright in Hollywood, but he was born at the wrong time and was also blacklisted by the government because of an unintentional act in college. However, his nightmare did not end. Peter, who was unemployed and heartbroken, lost all his memories in a car accident. When Peter was rescued by a kind-hearted person and taken to a small town called Ronson, the residents of the town mistook him for Luke, who died in World War II nine years ago. Luke's father Harry (Martin Landau) was even more ecstatic. Peter repaired Harry's unintentional cinema and let him find the passion of life in the movies. Luke's former girlfriend Adele (Laurie Holden) fell in love with Peter. When everything was moving towards a happy ending, the investigator tracked down the town and asked Peter to appear in court immediately. "A Movie Life," directed by the famous director Frank Darabont and starring comedy star Jim Carrey, was the director's ambitious work to win an Oscar. However, it failed both at the box office and in terms of reputation, but it was enough to reach the perfect level of continuous improvement.
