The story takes place in Britain in 1845. Anne (Charlie Murphy), Charlotte (Finn Atkins) and Emily (Chloe Pirrie) live a life of dependence with their elderly father. The repeated harassment of their younger brother Branwell (Adam Nagaitis) has made the family's already poor life worse. The three sisters all know that if their father dies, they may lose the house they depend on for survival and live on the streets. In order to avoid this situation, they work hard in their own ways. The three sisters are naturally good at fantasy and love writing, but it was impossible for the literary world at that time to publish works written by female writers. So, they used male pseudonyms to write and submit, and finally succeeded.
