On November 4, 1979, Iran's revolutionary army attacked the U.S. embassy in Tehran, Iran, and took the embassy staff hostage. More than 50 people were detained, but 6 escaped and hid in the home of Canadian Ambassador to Iran Ken Taylor (Victor Garber). CIA senior Jack O'Donnell (Bryan Cranston) found expert Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) to help him bring the six people back to the United States. After discussion, the CIA decided to take Tony's approach. In the name of filming a movie, Tony went to Iran to bring the six people back. Tony contacted his friend in Hollywood, makeup artist John Chambers (John Goodman), and contacted film producer Lester (Alan Arkin). Tony chose "ARGO" from many scripts, a movie very similar to "Star Wars". So as a producer, he went to Iran with the script and various props, found the six people, and began the arduous journey of fleeing Tehran... This film is adapted from a true story and won three awards at the 85th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Editing, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
