Louis (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a vagrant who does nothing but steal things all day. Once, he witnessed a photojournalist working, and he decided to do it himself after finding a business opportunity. Louis bought camera equipment and arrived at the crime scene first by eavesdropping on the police radio to shoot, and then sold the camera data to morning news producer Nina (Rene Russo) in exchange for compensation. After tasting the sweetness several times, Louis recruited Rick (Riz Ahmed) as a partner and prepared to "expand" his business. Gradually, ordinary car accidents or fire scenes can no longer satisfy Louis and Nina's appetite. What they need is a bloodier, more explosive and more eye-catching news scene. In order to get precious first-hand information, Louis even does not hesitate to "do it himself".
