The film is adapted from the novel "The Corpse Whisperer" by forensic doctor Qin Ming. It tells the story of Qin Ming (played by Yan Yikuan), a "corpse whisperer" known as "the hand of a ghost and the heart of a Buddha". He has dissected more than 1,000 corpses and has never made a mistake. He accidentally discovered that the "silent body teacher" who had been soaked in formalin for 6 years died of homicide, which triggered media doubts about the misjudgment and was pushed to the forefront of public opinion. Guided by the clues left by the corpse, Qin Ming, with the assistance of his intern assistant Jia Jia (played by Dai Si) and criminal police captain Lin Tao (played by Geng Le), discovered the secrets behind the snowstorm murder case that had been sealed for 16 years, the homicide case of the "silent body teacher" that had been misjudged for 6 years, and the unsolved IT man's lung explosion case.
