Beautiful single mother Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) took her son Aidan (David Dorfman) and left Seattle, where she had left behind an indelible memory of horror, and moved to Astria, Oregon, near the sea. Rachel got a job at a local newspaper and lived a fulfilling and busy life. One day, the newspaper received a message that two young people died and one was in a trance after watching a mysterious videotape. The familiar scene and the untitled videotape made Rachel sensitively aware that the nightmare of the past was about to reappear. She burned the videotape in an attempt to stop the curse of the murderous bell from spreading and endangering the world, but she didn't expect the disaster to fall on Aidan's head. What should be ended must be ended, and what cannot be escaped cannot be avoided... This film is adapted from the original horror work of the same name by Japanese writer Suzuki Koji, and is a remake of the Japanese version. The film won the 2006 ASCAP Film and Television Music Award and the 2006 BMI Film and Television Award for Best Original Score.
