Mitsuo Ando (played by Koichi Sato), who has a past that he cannot bear to look back on, received a call from his colleague Miyashita (played by Shingo Tsurumi) early in the morning, and learned that his friend Takayama Ryuji (played by Hiroyuki Sanada) who was studying at the Medical University had died unexpectedly. Ando performed an autopsy on Takayama's body, ruled out suicide and homicide, and found that his friend died of myocardial infarction. Under the arrangement of the police, he met Takayama's lover Takano Mai (played by Miki Nakatani), but heard that his friend died because of a videotape. Ando naturally would not believe in the illusory conjecture. Who knew that a few days later, Takayama's ex-wife Reiko Asakawa (played by Nanako Matsushima) and his young son also died in a car accident, and the broken video recorder in the damaged car aroused Ando's suspicion.
